Entry Level Prosecutor

The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an entry level prosecutor to serve in the misdemeanor intake division of the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office. This position is responsible for reviewing all misdemeanor cases submitted to the CCDA for review; they also are also responsible for attending morning magistration at the jail and representing the State in examining trials and pre-trial writs of habeas corpus.  An applicant must be dedicated to public service. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Compensation is dependent on experience.
 
Cameron County is the 13th biggest county in Texas. The CCDA employs over 40 prosecutors, and in total has a staff of over 100 employees. The CCDA is responsible for all criminal prosecution in the state courts within Cameron County. This includes the 8 district courts, four (soon to be five) county courts at law, and 10 justice courts.  Uniquely situated on the border and by the sea, Cameron County offers a prosecutor a unique experience in prosecution.
