ANGLETON — After a Houston man testified in his own
defense, a jury convicted him Wednesday afternoon of murder and two
counts of aggravated robbery.
The
jury of six men and six women deliberated just more than two hours
before finding Joshua “Goldie” Tyrone Lane, 21, guilty of the three
charges.
Lane was accused of entering an Alvin hotel the night
of Aug. 18, robbing two men of several hundred dollars and then
shooting one in the leg and the other in the abdomen. Bobby Wayne
Dollarhide, 41, of Alvin died of his injuries while en route to a
Houston-area hospital by EMS.
Lane faces up to life in prison. The sentencing phase is set to begin this morning.
