ANGLETON — A Brazoria County jury deliberated for two hours Thursday evening before deciding to break without a verdict in the murder trial of a Houston man.
The jury of eight men and four women started deliberating the charges against Wearren Floyd Murrell at about 5:45 p.m. after listening to testimony from a co-conspirator and several of Murrell’s family members.
Murrell, 24, is accused of participating in a robbery at an Alvin motel the night of Aug. 18 with Joshua “Goldie” Tyrone Lane, 21, and Paul Goodjoint, 18, of Houston. Prosecutors allege Lane shot Bobby Wayne Dollarhide, 41, of Alvin and another man during the robbery. Dollarhide died from his wounds.
