Was the death of Elisiah Miguel Guajardo murder, or was it a tragic accident?

Prosecutors and the defense counsel for Christi Denice King offered completely different viewpoints Tuesday about the drowning death of King’s infant child.

During opening arguments in King’s murder trial, Assistant District Attorney Keli Aiken told the 10 woman, two man jury that the evidence would show King deliberately killed Guajardo.

“This was not an accident. This was murder,” Aiken said. “She murdered her 10-month-old child Elisiah.”

Defense attorney Jack Paris said the death was indeed a tragedy.
