Jury gives life sentence to man who fractured daughter's skull

Jurors took less than an hour Monday to convict a man accused of hitting his 16-month-old daughter in the head so hard her skull fractured in three places.

India Andrus died in December 2006.

On Monday, a judge sentenced her father, 25-year-old Dennis Andrus, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Andrus denied ever hitting his daughter.

Prosecutors said Andrus was home alone with India and her 2-year-old sister while the girls' mother went to work on Dec. 4.
