CROCKETT — A 22-year-old Palestine man was sentenced to life in prison last week by a Houston County jury for the murder of a 30-year-old Grapeland woman shot to death at her residence this past summer.

Eric Lamond Davis, 22, of Palestine was sentenced to life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on Nov. 25 following his five-day murder trial at the Houston County Courthouse in Crockett.

Grapeland police officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Lime Circle in Grapeland during the early morning hours of July 5 in reference to an apparent shooting, authorities have said.
