HOUSTON — The Harris County District Attorney's office is investigating allegations that more than 1,100 Harris County people may have voted illegally in the March 4 Texas primaries, a county official said Tuesday.

Harris County Clerk Beverly Kaufman said she presented the DA's office with a list of 1,147 names of voters who may have voted in both the Democratic and Republican primaries or voted twice in the same primary.

"We realize that this was an unusual election," said Kaufman. "We have cases where voters voted in one primary and then went and voted in another."
