Video recordings of the defendant's telephone conversations in the police interview room were admissible because they were not wire communications under CCP art. 18.20 [1]. Words that are spoken into a telephone receiver and that can also be heard in the area surrounding the speaker without electronic assistance are not "wire communications" as defined in CCP art. 18.20, §1(1).
