ANGLETON — An Alvin man testified Tuesday he pretended to be dead after being shot in the leg and then watched as a man shot and killed his friend inside a hotel room.

“I was hurt but I’m not dying,” he said as he described the night on the stand. “So I pretended like I’m dying. I leaned back on the couch.”

After the men shot him, they asked Bobby Wayne Dollarhide for his wallet, and when he would not hand it over, the men hit him on the head with the butt of a sawed-off shotgun, the victim testified. Then Dollarhide handed him his wallet, which contained an unknown amount of cash, he said.

“They were smiling after they see the money and then they shot Bobby,” the man testified. “He started bleeding.”
