Qualifications: Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. Applicants awaiting bar results will be considered. Legal experience such as Legal Clinic participation or internships during Law School preferred but not required.
This Assistant County/District Attorney will handle all aspects of prosecution to include intake, Grand Jury presentation, plea negotiations, trial prep and trials, probation revocations and appeals at every level from Justice, County to District Court. Selected applicant will also assist handling CPS cases, juvenile prosecution and civil County affairs including providing legal opinions requested by County elected official, advising the County Commissioner’s Court, responding to Public Information Act requests and other County government needs.
Robertson County is a small county with four incorporated cities: Franklin (county seat), Hearne, Calvert and Bremond and a total population of about 17,000 located about 30 miles from Bryan/College Station. The office currently has two assistant DAs, two investigators, a paralegal, a victim assistance coordinator, a felony coordinator and a misdemeanor coordinator.
