The Gregg County District Attorney’s Office presents a fast paced team oriented atmosphere where you will get to hone your trial skills with over 100 years of trial experience to lean on. Prosecutors are given autonomy to work all levels of crimes from misdemeanors up to Murder. Each court is comprised of at least two prosecutors, and in that setting the ability to entrench yourself in the criminal process from start to finish. A Gregg County prosecutor argues fourth amendment issues, negotiates with defense attorneys, and ultimately seeks to do the right thing every time. With the freedom to soar and a full support system below you, it’s hard to think of a better place to spread your wings.

We also, offer a position for the attorney that doesn’t want to be in the courtroom and prefers to write about the law and argue before a panel of three.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position will vary on qualifications and experience $75K – $100K to start.  Additionally, Gregg County provides an exceptional benefits package to all employees that includes health insurance, vision and dental coverage, optional life insurance, and an unrivaled retirement participation in the Texas District and County Retirement Program.  The GCDA’s office pays for all State licensing dues and costs associated with CLE, including membership to TDCAA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (or graduation from an accredited law school awaiting State Bar of Texas results).
  • Consent to and pass a background check.
  • SECURTIY REQUIREMENT – Must be able to obtain and maintain a Texas Department of Public Safety CJIS security clearance.
