The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a prosecutor in its Child Abuse Division.  Applicants should be Texas licensed attorneys in good standing with at least 3 years of job-related experience and should possess a thorough working knowledge of criminal prosecution and court procedure.  The ideal candidate for this position has extensive felony trial experience, including experience in cases involving sexual abuse and/or sexual exploitation. The preferred candidate also has experience writing and reviewing digital evidence search warrants.

The prosecutors assigned to the division are responsible for the intake evaluation, grand jury presentation, and prosecution, through trial, of assigned cases.  The open position in the Child Abuse Division is for a felony prosecutor who will handle the criminal prosecution of cases involving physical, fatal, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children, including Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) cases.

Fort Bend County is one of the most diverse counties in the nation and is only thirty minutes from downtown Houston.  The annual salary for this position is $101,504+ (depending on qualifications and experience).  Bar dues and CLE are paid for by the office.  Relevant Texas Board of Legal Specialization certifications allow for additional compensation of $5,000 annually.
