This prosecutor will handle all aspects of misdemeanor and juvenile prosecution including case intake, plea negotiations, trial preparation and jury/bench trials, probation revocation hearings, and appeals. The prosecutor will also be responsible for handling dockets in J.P. courts.  As this position comes with the responsibility of juvenile prosecution, it presents an excellent opportunity for the prosecutor to gain felony experience.

Our starting salary is $73,000 plus a state supplement that will range from $10,000-$15,000.  Benefits include, but are not limited to, county retirement (2 to 1 match), health insurance, and paid bar dues and CLE.

Orange County is located in beautiful southeast Texas on the border of Louisiana, approximately eighty miles from Houston. The Sabine River borders the City of Orange and nearby Sabine Lake provides opportunities for fishing, hunting and boating.
