JOB TITLE: Attorney, Felony Prosecutor I
JOB SUMMARY: Working under the general supervision of the Chief Felony Prosecutor, the Felony Prosecutor I will have daily contact with the public and is responsible for assisting the Criminal District Attorney with trying cases and handling legal matters. This position requires a thorough knowledge of all phases of criminal prosecution and law enforcement procedures and is responsible for the prosecution of adult felony offenders in the District Courts. This position also attempts to ensure that criminals are properly prosecuted based upon given facts and application to current law.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university and a J.D. (law) degree are required. The individual should possess a thorough working knowledge of law enforcement and court procedures and practices. Significant felony jury trial experience preferred. Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Must pass a criminal background check and take/pass a drug screen. SALARY: Pay Group E17 $117,500 – $130,000/annually
*Salary will be commensurate with experience.
