The Chambers County District Attorney’s Office has an opening for a Felony Prosecutor. As an Assistant District Attorney in Chambers County, you will have the opportunity to handle a wide variety of cases and get hands-on experience.
Duties include handling all aspects of felony prosecution from initial screening through trial. Prospective applicants should be able to handle an active criminal docket with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited law school, currently licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Experience in criminal law with first chair felony trial experience preferred, but we will consider a recent law school graduate with significant internship experience in a District Attorney’s Office. Applicant must be a team player who can work well in a small office and must be able to work well with law enforcement. Must be familiar with the criminal justice system and have the ability to work within all components. Must have a demonstrated history of community involvement.
Chambers County is one of the fastest growing areas in the State of Texas. Located approximately 45 minutes east of Houston and 45 minutes west of Beaumont. Our office is an easy drive off I-10, in a great small town on the coast.
Annual Salary: Up to $100,000, DOE.
