Hybrid Assistant District Attorney (80% Remote, 20% In-Office)

Location: Ector County, Texas (must reside within a 2-3 hour drive of the Ector County Courthouse)

Salary: $125,000 – $140,000 DOE + excellent benefits; Total compensation $146,000 – $164,000

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional after-hours for court hearings)

The Ector County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced Assistant District Attorney (ADA) to join our team in a hybrid capacity, working 80% remotely and 20% in-office. This position is ideal for a highly skilled trial attorney with a minimum of 10 years of experience, specifically in prosecuting murder and aggravated sexual assault cases.

As an ADA, you will be responsible for handling felony trials. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile and serious felony cases while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage felony cases assigned to you.

• Draft pleadings, motions, and correspondence necessary for discovery and trial.

• Prosecute cases through trial, including jury trials in District Courts.

• Collaborate with law enforcement and victim advocacy groups.

• Assist the District Attorney in other felony and misdemeanor prosecutions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a trial attorney handling murder and aggravated sexual assault cases.

• Must reside within a 2 to 3-hour drive of the Ector County Courthouse.

• Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.

• Strong courtroom presence and willingness to try cases on a consistent basis.
