Beginning Salary: $104,919.84
Job Summary
Involves all phases of litigation in the prosecution of juvenile delinquency cases and presenting said cases in front of both the Associate Judge and District Judge of the Court. Duties include, but are not limited to, trial work, discovery, handling agreed pleas as well as open pleas, other contested hearings, and presenting cases before the grand jury. This attorney will work in a court with other assigned prosecutors.
Essential Job Functions
- Drafting legal documents including motions and petitions.
- Ability to research and prepare legal documents in relation to juvenile law litigation, including but not limited to discovery, pleas, hearings and trials.
- Advising crime victims on matters of juvenile law and how the law may impact a given victim.
- Preparing witnesses to testify.
- Working with the Juvenile Probation Services.
- Jury trials and trials before the court.
- Contested Hearings.
- Preparing Discovery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
A Juris Doctor Degree and three years as a practicing attorney with a minimum of one year of juvenile or criminal law.
