Assistant District Attorney

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has an open position for an entry level misdemeanor prosecutor.  Duties will include evaluation and prosecution of misdemeanor criminal offenses.  This prosecutor will be expected to represent the State in criminal misdemeanor prosecutions in the County Courts at Law and Justice of the Peace courts.  The prosecutor will be expected to evaluate cases, contact victims, work with law enforcement officers, and try appropriate cases to jury verdicts.
 
Applicants must be licensed by and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas or have taken the July, 2017, Bar Exam.  Starting salary is roughly $68,000.  Benefits include MCLE costs, bar dues, an excellent retirement, and insurance.
 
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is located in Conroe, Texas, 40 miles north of Houston.  The staff of over 48 attorneys serves a growing population of over 500,000 residents.  Interested applicants should email Lyndsee Speakmon a letter of interest and resume by September 11, 2017 at 5 p.m.  For those selected, interviews will take place in late September, 2017.
