XXVII. No J.N.O.V in Criminal Cases

Savage v. State, 933 S.W.2d 497(Tex.Crim.App.  1996).

Trial judge has no authority to grant a j.n.o.v. in criminal case. It can grant a motion for new trial based on insufficiency of the evidence but when it does, State can appeal.
